Current Exhibition

Another Hour is a solo exhibition of new landscape paintings by Braemar-based artist Felix Zandt. Felix moved from Glasgow to Braemar two years ago, and his paintings depict the mountains and woodlands that now surround him. Through a rhythmic language of brushwork, and a gradual layering of paint, his work describes the essence of what it can feel like to develop a bond with a place over time. To experience both the light and the dark, and to embrace the intimacy and isolation that a landscape such as this can present you with.

A Celtic Sensibility

1/5

Many of our artists have strong ties to the “Celtic fringes” of the UK, landscapes that merge a sense of mystery with a deep connection to nature, elements and the senses. Dream-laden landscapes, nocturnal forests and uncanny figures; rich textures and elemental materials; washes of colour and experiments with light - our artists find ways to communicate the richness, beauty and stories of these places.
