Art Advisory
Astray are Edinburgh-based art advisors, working across the UK and internationally.
Collectors often find it helpful to work with an art consultant - a partner to help navigate the artworld, whose experience can bring insight, evade pitfalls and, most importantly, add value. We are pleased to consult for private collectors, businesses, architects and interior designers on short- and long-term projects, from providing initial advice to establishing an on-going relationship.
Our approach at Astray is informed, rigorous, creative and – we hope! - fun. Our aim is for you to enjoy the process as much as we do. Contact us to book a free initial consultation.
Our Expertise
- In-depth experience of the commercial art world, from galleries and auctions to direct commissions from artists
- A detailed knowledge of art across a span of periods and mediums
- A strong network of contacts within both commercial and institutional art settings
- Literacy in current and historical art market trends
- Connections with a diversity of artists – from young talent, to the globally recognised
This enables us to build our clients unique and meaningful collections of excellent quality, purchased at fair market value and of a diverse nature that will better weather market fluctuations in the long term.

Our fee structure varies depending on the scope of services, in discussion with our clients. Broadly speaking, for a larger or longer-term project, our fees are calculated on a commission-based model. For smaller projects - perhaps consisting of initial advice, or the re-presentation or re-hang of your existing collection - we work to an hourly rate.
