About the Artist
Emerging talent Aisha Plumridge graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2025. From Anglesey in Wales, she now lives and works in Edinburgh.
Her narrative oil paintings combine a sense of the mystical with the everyday. Strange worlds filled with characters and stories, Aisha’s works are enquiries into the universal aspects of human nature, from the absurd and grotesque, to the tender and intimate.
Referencing both family members and strangers she meets, as well as the landscapes of North Wales, her work explores the subtle oddities and peculiarities of people, employing figures as symbolic representations of societal archetypes. Her figures are seen to be dreaming, dancing, gossiping, and acting mischievously, as stories quietly unfold around them.
